The HawxBox Shows Off Its Seahawk Spirit
The Hawx Box, a 1987 Ford E350 Short Bus originally used by the Toppenish School District, was purchased after some loyal Seattle Seahawks fans saw it on Craig’s List, and knew the absolute potential. Those loyal Seattle Seahawk fans, also known as Loren Ellingson, Garth Conner, Tim Scheuffele and Dan Bruhn, took about 7 months to turn this jalopy bus with wheel chair lift and all into what is now known as The Hawx Box.
The entire inside was gutted leaving only the original dash column and steering wheel to make room for its complete make over. New seats, carpeting, diamond plating, and a professional paint job were some of the features included in this face-lift. With permission from the Seahawks, the newly installed seats featured custom-designed vinyl logos made especially for The Hawx Box.
The Outside of this tailgate machine has been professionally painted in Seahawk blue, and adorned with Seahawk and Hawx Box decals. If you look closely, you will see such finishing details such as the Ford emblem badges that have been replaced with Seahawks badges. As most people know, it’s the details that truly take these types of tailgate vehicles to the next level.
After a lot of sweat, money and man hours, The Hawx Box made its debut for the start of the 2008 season. However, the owners are quick to point out that this bus is still a work in progress. Already in the works for this tailgating machine is a brand new awning and barbecue.
On occasion, the guys load up The Hawx Box with a bunch of their friends, and take this beauty for a night out on the town. It goes without saying that she gets stares wherever they take her.
