John Stimer, who is one of our readers, and a giant West Virginia Football fan, sent us this 1988 Ford E150 Econoline Conversion Tailgate Van. Even though it is well over 20 years old, there are only 88,000 miles on the original engine, and it was actually bought for $1,800, which is a steal with that many miles.
There is something about SEC Football and tailgating that just go so well together. And there is something about ex-Swat vans and tailgating that just seem to go hand-in-hand. Well, at least to the Beyl’s and their “ELLESYOU” tailgating crew. They took a 1977 Chevrolet P20 step van, which isn’t winning any LEED contests at 14 MPG and a top speed of 65 MPH, and turned it into a heckuva conversion project.

Proof that the depth in the SEC goes beyond the football field.
There are weekend projects, and then there are weekend projects that take 6 months and over 1000 man-hours to complete. This one is the latter, and it is appropriately named the “Master Gator.”
Created by Keith Moody, the “Master Gator” began as a 1992 Ford B700 with a 5.9 Cummins and Thomas Body, which was picked up in an auction down in Broward County. Working with some of his friends, Keith began by gutting the inside of the bus including seats, rubber floor, plywood subfloor, heaters, driver's seat, and windows. Then using the help of his friend Martin from Master Blaster in Fort Pierce, they sandblasted the inside before priming and painting the complete interior portion of this tailgate machine. Keith even stripped down the windows to their raw aluminum state, and took them to a machine shop where he was able to anodized the frames black. As he would put it, “Not one part of this bus is half assed, all wiring, plumbing paint etc was done right.”
Reason #62 of why we love college football: They just don't have this in the pros. When tailgating is just not enough, innovation takes over. This is a reader-sent photo, and unfortunately, we do not have a location on this dedicated tailgater.
