The Plight to Tailgate Continues...

A week ago, we wrote about Redskins fans' plight to battle their organization's new parking/tailgate policy. We are happy to report that Ted Abela, the leader of the online petition, was able to have his story published in the Washington Post's D.C. Sports Bog regarding these bogus new guidelines. Ted happily feeds over 300 people each week before home games, and travels to 4 - 6 games each year. He is asking that all of you please read it if you have the time, and forward it to as many people as you can, even if they aren't Redskins fans. This could happen at your stadium or college campus soon, and it must be stopped.

Fighting For Their Right To Tailgate

The fight is officially on for Redskin Fans to save tailgating, as they know it.

What is now being called “Tailgate-gate” is now turning into a full out battle to allow tailgaters to park anywhere in the lot they desire as long as they have the appropriate parking pass. The Reason? The Redskin Organization has revised its parking policy to include the following:

“Individuals should be allowed to park anywhere in the lot they desire as long as they have the appropriate Parking Pass. Individuals that are occupying more than 1 space will be asked to move. If they do not comply they risk losing their Parking Pass for the Season.”

Although we understand that this is meant to help with organization and to ease the flow of traffic, it is going to put a damper on hard-core tailgaters that bring out tents, grills, and tables to their tailgate areas. It’s going to break up large groups who come out to support the very organization who is laying down this new ground rule.

As fellow tailgaters, we are asking Redskin fans and not to visit, and sign their petition at www.savetailgating.com. As of this posting, there are 677 total signatures. Let’s help get them in the thousands!

The "Big G" Is Truly A Tailgating Legend

For the last 15 years, Stephen Gay has been showing his love for the Green Bay Packers by sporting his converted 1966 Dodge Camper. This lifelong resident of Green Bay turned that old camper into one of the most storied tailgating vehicles around, simply known as the "Big G." This famous tailgate machine has even starred in a Campbell's Soup commercial and an NFL Films presentation. Its allocates are incredibly hard to beat considering the fact that the "Big G" has been featured in numerous news and web publishings throughout the country.

The HawxBox Shows Off Its Seahawk Spirit

The Hawx Box, a 1987 Ford E350 Short Bus originally used by the Toppenish School District, was purchased after some loyal Seattle Seahawks fans saw it on Craig’s List, and knew the absolute potential. Those loyal Seattle Seahawk fans, also known as Loren Ellingson, Garth Conner, Tim Scheuffele and Dan Bruhn, took about 7 months to turn this jalopy bus with wheel chair lift and all into what is now known as The Hawx Box.
